About Nightingale Atlas


Blood lipids and metabolites are markers of current health status and can reflect the risk for future disease onset. This webtool provides an open access to results from a disease-wide association scan of 249 plasma biomarkers quantified by Nightingale Health Plc. for ~120,000 participants in the UK Biobank.

The biomarkers cover 249 measures of lipoprotein subclasses, fatty acids, and small molecules, such as amino acids, ketones, and glycolysis metabolites. This online atlas provides the results of systematic analyses of these blood biomarkers with the incidence, prevalence and mortality of 726 diseases (3-character ICD-10 codes with > 50 events in electronic health records up to 12 years after blood sampling).

Forestplots


Foresplot visualizations of the associations of baseline biomarker concentrations with 3-character ICD-10 endpoints in the UK Biobank. Forestplots show the hazard/odds ratios along with 95% confidence intervals. Significant associations are displayed in the foresplot as filled points, non-significant ones as hollow points.

Each biomarker was corrected for spectrometer and analyzed for association with a 3-character ICD-10 endpoint using logistic regression (prevalent endpoints) or Cox regression (incident and mortality endpoints) adjusted for sex, UK Biobank assessment center, and age (age was used as the timescale in Cox regression). For sex-specific diseases, the association analyses were performed in a subset containing only the specific sex, without the inclusion of sex as a covariate.
